If you’ve ever wondered…
… what happens when anonymous comments and rude comments are allowed to run rampant, wonder no longer. Look no further than Republitarian.com. What started as a thread about Carolyn Frank and the farm bureau quickly turned into a nasty mud slinging contest. Waldo is right. People are seldom as anonymous as they think they are, and they should take this into consideration when they comment. I will not be outing any of these “anonymous” commenters. After all, it’s Myron’s blog and if he wants to let people play games like that, it’s his business.
The sorriest part of it all is that when Republitarian finally did step in and threatened to ban and moderate, that thread got equally out of hand. Way to lay down the law, Honey.
And some people wonder why I’m not a big fan of poorly used anonymous comments. My favorite part is when I get blamed for what is allowed to happen on another blog. I also like the part where it is my fault because I gave my opinion about anon comments (without mentioning any names) on a thread dedicated to discussing anon comments.
