This is extremely hard to do.
I’m leaving the blog, at least as a contributor. I haven’t felt this awful since breaking up with with my boyfriend in high school.

Take the quiz and find out.
You paid attention during 100% of high school!
85-100% You must be an autodidact, because American high schools don’t get scores that high! Good show, old chap!
Do you deserve your high school diploma?
Sadly, were it not for Cory Chandler and what I’ve learned homeschooling my kids, I would have missed five questions and scored a 74%.
“Mmmmmm! You look just like on of those Mexicans in at Walmart!”
Your turn. What’s the worst you ever heard –or used?
Following SWACgirl’s lead I would like to take some time and let everyone know why Kurt Michael should be reelected chairman*.
Christian … husband…bully … father … teacher…demigod… leader … liar…mentor…2-face… hard worker…self-promoter … dedicated … brown shirt…principled .. loyal…
SWACjob.
These are the words to describe Kurt Michael, current chairman of the Augusta County Republican Committee. Kurt works hard for the principles he believes in – SWAC principals—small tent, weed out the heretics, keep the party pure … Kurt walks the walk.
He has been accused by his detractors, who have no problem with his leadership and the hours he spends leading the local Republicans, as being “divisive.”
Divisive?
This is the man who has led numerous mass meetings over the years for the very electeds who are now calling him “divisive.” I don’t understand why they have a problem with all the work he put into trying to keep them from being nominated, campaigning against them, and trying to keep them out of office.
This is the man who worked with community leaders to organize and bring out 500 people to a Staunton School Board meeting in 2005 when the school board thought that schools should teach reading and math and the parents should be responsible to teach their own children the religion of their choice.
This is the man who worked with 30 local churches to organize voters to keeping the government in our bedrooms with the gays are icky and dratted to H E double hockey sticks amendment.
This is the man who worked with Staunton GOP Chairman Anne Taetzsch and Staunton City Council candidate Andrea Oakes to organize citizens who weren’t content to just not patronize a business they disapproved of, citizens who called to ask, “Can the Republicans shut down a business I don’t like?” Together they gathered thousands of signatures and organized hundreds of people to request that only SWAC approved businesses be allowed anywhere in SWACistan.
This is the man who is currently working with those volunteers to get those same ordinances passed in Augusta County.
Divisive?
This is the man who took the Augusta County Republican Committee, which was a bare-bones operation just seven years ago with only a shovel, cheese grater and an abandoned iguana but no other infrastructure in place, and built it to the organization it is today. He recruited new members, filled positions, and removed all moderate republicans, building from the ground up and then decided the tent was full enough, maybe even too full.
This is the man who leads the monthly SWAC-GOP breakfasts that regularly bring in 50 local Republicans, some of whom aren’t RINOs, to hear from such speakers as Lt. Governor Bill Bolling, Attorney General Bob McDonnell, former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore, Congressman Bob Goodlatte, when they don’t have more important things to do like tell bloggers how great and influential they are.
This is the man who stands up for the elected officials (when he isn’t campaigning against them), defends them to the public(when he isn’t running them down), collects their petitions, promotes them to the community, runs ads against them — whether they are local, statewide, or national.
This is the man who designed and built GOP parade floats, worked county fair booths, and stood up for our military at Support the Troops rallies since 2002 when the first anti-war protesters hit the streets of Staunton . He waves flags and puts his hand over his heart every time he says the pledge of allegiance or sings the national anthem. Win the war signs even bring a tear to his eye. And He was at the Staunton Armory in February when the Stonewall Brigade returned after serving in Iraq and led the troops in the prayer to George Bush.
Kurt is the go-to person for citizens in the community when they need to know which direction to turn when unable to catch up with a public official. Without his ability to give out phone numbers and email addresses citizens would have to resort to looking in a phone book or visiting a webpage. He is the go-to person for those who are considering running for public office and need advice on whether they are a true conservative worthy of the job.
I have watched over the years as Kurt has given hours of time as a volunteer for the conservative Republican cause. He has met with public officials, been at the forefront of witch-hunts, led meetings, Photo shopped pictures, organized citizens to attend Planning Commission and Board of Supervisor meetings to advance the issues they are interested in, recorded radio ads against elected republicans, worked Republican headquarters, held book burnings, gathered signatures on petitions for Republican candidates, organized lynchings spent countless hours on the phone talking with candidates and volunteers and community leaders and electeds and anyone else who wanted a few minutes of his time.
This is not the work of a “divisive” individual. It is the work of someone who knows he is right and doesn’t think he should have to reach out and work with anyone who disagrees.
He is one of the most unselfish, out-of-touch, closed-minded volunteers I know. He is one of the most infected leaders I have known
Kurt Michael wants to continue leading the Augusta County Republican Party … and I back him 100% because nothing causes people to see the need for change and moderation more than radical extremists with no tolerance for opposing views.
He is a volunteer, he does not receive money from any elected official, he does not work for any elected officials … he does this because of the principles he believes in and because he wants to maintain his amateur status so as to qualify to compete in the Political Special Olympics.
*As with all political endorsements, mine has been slightly embellished. Parts are true; other parts are completely fabricated. The rest of the statements fall somewhere in between. For those who think they should be offended, I recommend reading this and this also. ![]()
“… we need more black people.” Here a DWJ we are striving for a show of diversity. Too bad we don’t have an Asian to boot out of the way to make room.
A Swedish vodka maker thinks this is what Mexicans view as a perfect world:![]()
Considering the number of Mexicans that risk their lives to escape Mexico and live in the United States I think this would be more realistic:
Alex has won the SWACiest SWACjob contest! He started off with an early lead of 40% but lost some ground to finish with only 34% of our readers viewing him as the SWACiest SWACjob. Even with this drop in numbers he still managed to received more votes than the next two highest vote getters combined. Way to go Alex! That’s what I call a mandate! Your prize will be on it’s way sometime next week. Never fear; it’s nothing illegal or immoral, but it may push the limits of proper SWACistan blogging.
Second place go to Lynn Mitchell who I figured would finish in the top three. And Anne Taetzsch surprised me with an upset by surpassing Chris Donkey for third place. Congratulations ladies! Better luck next time, Chris.
Kurt, Steve, Cliff and Yankee Phil, I’m sorry but compared to the overpowering SWACiness radiated from the great JMax you just aren’t all that SWACy. Even trying to bribe Whackjob with Wizard of Oz photos can’t help you. (try cookies next time)
Zen, I have two words for you: YOU FAIL!
And now a message from Alex Davis himself. (Bolding is mine.)
Hey everybody. If you know me, I am very involved with politics on the local and state level. Currently, I am serving as Secretary for the Staunton Republican Committee. Though most of you know my political leanings, I NEVER try to ask favors of my good friends… …until now.
Now, I need your help. On MARCH 29, 2008 (a Saturday) AT 10.00AM the Staunton Republican Committee is holding their Mass Meeting. A Mass Meeting, in its simplest form, is when people like me get re-elected (and in some cases elected into) back into their positions. I ask you to come out and support me. I don’t care if you’re left wing, right wing, libertarian, conservative, liberal, apathetic, or whatever you are — I ask you to support me for ME.
Why you ask? There is a faction out there who hate me and some of my other friends on the committee. They have spread rumors and lies about me. They have called me untruthful, irresponsible, disrespectful, a liar, and unqualified, and mouthed countless profanities at me during our meetings. They would like nothing more than to see me get the boot. For them, it’s not about politics. It’s totally about personal grudges they have against me. And you all know me. You all know I AM NOT what they are spreading around.
It will take you less than an hour. Remember, I don’t usually ask favors of this magnitude. But I am now. I hope you can make it home on MARCH 29, 2008 (a Saturday) and help support me. And if you can’t, get your folks to come out!
Please let me know and thank you in advance.
Also, my phone number and email are provided below. I hope you all (if you have questions, comments, etc) will call or email if you need to and ask me anything you need to know.

Here’s the only catch–you need to live (aka have residency) in Staunton, be a registered voter**, and be at LEAST 18.** If you’re not a registered voter, let me know and I’ll make you one!
There is a reason Davis is leading in our poll. Careful, JMax, Chris Green frowns on this type of thing. Remember the uproar all of SWACistan was in when Democrats may have voted in an open Republican primary? REAL Republicans don’t solicit help from anything other than fellow REAL Republicans. You might find yourself booted out of the tent.
Somewhere someone College Republican Federation of Virginia is holding a crazy liberal contest, but this should be more fun.
Go vote on the sidebar. The poll lasts a week and winner will win something very fantastic that I am personally picking out. Since BNN calls us a liberal blog you can vote every day. But since I’m not liberal you are limited to just one vote each day.
Good luck to you all!
Next time you have a body to dispose of head on over to the library.
Recently a library worker in Lindsay, California was fired after reporting criminal activity to the police.
Brenda Biesterfeld noticed a man downloading child porn on a library computer and contacted police against the wishes of her supervisor Judi Hill. When the police arrived Hill even confronted them accusing them of interfering where they didn’t belong and told them that the library was handling the problem. And just what was her idea of handling the problem? Make a note on the man’s library account and tell him to stop looking a child porn.
So, have some one you need to get rid of? Need a safe place to make a drug deal? Want to get roaring dunk but you’re only thirteen? Just head on over to the Lindsay Library and make sure Judy Hill is on duty. She won’t report you, and will fire anyone who does. Worst case senario–you’ll be asked not to do it again.
I understand that the Obama campaign didn’t create this page, but good grief, it’s almost like being endorsed by NAMBLA or Hitler.
DISCLAIMER–Before someone blows this way out of proportion: I do not believe Obama supports NAMBLA or vice versa. And, no, I did not just call Obama Hitler. This is also not to suggest that Obama is a member of the New Black Panther Party or supports them. I also don’t find Hitler, NAMBLA, or the New Black Panther Party funny.
This has nothing to do with the ODBA. It’s about OBAMA. No D and an extra M and A. And, yes, you should all feel very insulted that I felt the need to say all that.
The following email was sent to someone here at DWJ who then promptly circulated it to the rest of us just as the email requested.
According to The Book of Revelations the anti-christ is:The anti-christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal….the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything. Is it OBAMA??I STRONGLY URGE each one of you to repost this as many times as you can! Each opportunity that you have to send it to a friend or media outlet…do it!
I refuse to take a chance on this unknown candidate who came out of nowhere.
If this were true I would be voting for Obama since the sooner The Antichrist appears the sooner Jesus returns and the sooner I get into heaven. But, alas, this is a bunch of bull hooey.
Interestingly enough, the word Antichrist doesn’t even appear in the book of Revelation. It only appears in the books of First and Second John where we are told that many antichrists have come and that anyone who denies that Jesus is the Christ is an antichrist.
Revelation does talk of a dragon, a beast out of the sea and a beast out of the earth. The beast from the earth has the number 666 and, I believe, is generally thought of as the (capitol A) Antichrist. So what does John have to say about this (capitol A) Antichrist Beast from the earth?
Of course, there is a lot of symbolism used here, and we could probably debate for hours what each of the above points means, but please take notice that no where does Revelation say that this (capitol A) Antichrist Beast from the earth is a Muslim man in his forties. I also don’t see any promises of peace. Where is the persuasive language?
Come on people, if you don’t know your Bible any better than that just keep quiet. You make the rest of us look bad.
Besides, everyone knows Prince Charles is the real Antichrist.
And I just love the irony of it! A new blog has replaced Republitarian as the most sensational tabloid style valley blog. (It’s a parody; I get it.) But I just love that the bloggers who most often question Republitarian’s ethics and motives and try their hardest to make him seem bad for stirring the pot are now running this new blog or commenting on how great and fantastic it is. I agree; it is great and fantastic. I love it all the more because Gxeremio, Finnegan and JGFitzgerald have out republitarianed the Republitarian. Way to go guys!
Seriously, everyone should go check it out. Both Republitarian and I laugh every time we visit.
This week I have found it necessary to mail several packages. Today I was told that due to 9-11 and homeland security it is required that a return address be on all packages. Cause you know, if I was a terrorist and was mailing anthrax or something I would attach my real name and address to it. Win the War!
Worst part is, I can’t remember if I put my return address on the ones I mailed before today.
Hatter, I have a confession.

Does your city have a drug problem? Chicago may have the solution: Ban the bags they are sold in.
Cause you know, if the package is illegal, that will stop drug dealers.
“Oh me, Oh my! I’m so sorry. I can’t sell you any more cocaine. I’m not allowed to package it in little baggies any longer. Looks like I’ll have to go find other work. Do you know if McDonald’s is hiring?”
Yeah, right.
Makes about as much sense as banning all guns from universities.
Every three years we are contacted by the County Public Schools to complete a census of “school-aged children”. Every three years I decline to participate.
Why?
Because they use this census to determine how much of 1% of the state’s sales tax each school gets. My kids don’t go to the government’s schools. The school shouldn’t receive money for educating them.
I’m fairly certain that at one time a former member of the school board told me on another blog– that has since self destructed– that funding for the schools was based on actual enrollment. Perhaps some of the funding is determined that way, but obviously not all. This census asks you to fill out information on any young person whose age falls between 1 and 19. Including children enrolled in privates schools, preschool programs, schooled at home, at collage or in the military. Why should the government run schools get money to educate a child they are not even paying to educate? According to this and this, 10% percent of children nation wide attend a private school. The public school system isn’t paying for that; the parents are. Likewise, the 2.2% (and growing) that are educated at home are not the financial responsibility of the government’s schools.
Until the funds gathered by the sales tax are distributed to those actually educating the children I will continue to follow the advice of Home School Legal Defence and send this in reply: “We decline to participate in this voluntary school census. Thank you very much.” I encourage all other parents that are financially responsible for their children’s education to do the same.
Click to see the silliness the school system sent me.
You’re going to have to go below the fold for this one…
